Why a new product code for wine?

The problem statement:
There is no way to uniquely identify, and quickly and easily find back a specific wine and all relevant
   information
about that wine.

This lack of wine market transparency has important consequences for consumers and companies.

Wine names can be very complex

back)

Because wines are being named by the information on the label, the resulting descriptions can be long and language-specific. This makes the product name hard to handle for consumers not familiar with the language, and increases error-proneness due to typing errors. Most importantly, it does not guarantee that the wine is uniquely described by the character string, as one word more or less can mean a different wine.
